Update

I'll put some pics up of how my CV is going soon but in the mean time I just joined fairtilizer, which is a wicked music streaming website and here's a playlist by Amir (from Kno and Amir fame) which I've been listening to a bit and really enjoying.

CV

Been thinking about my CV and really want it to be something like a gift.
I want it to be like a present or a parcel in the post that you would look forward to receiving and unwrapping. But I really don't want it to be cheesy. I really love this group madvillian and they rereleased their album repackaged in a special presentation boxset with added bits: a t shirt, original mixes on a tape and a 7" record.
I would love my CV to be made up of different elements that all made up my CV. It would all be packaged in a box and include a book showing specific print work, a DVD containing web and motion graphics and whereas in the madvillian box there is a t shirt my CV would contain a poster or something that can be hung up or worn.

Here are some images of the madvilian box set

Matt Sewell

Matt Sewell is an amazing illustrator who I haven't heard anything about for a while but then found his blog, which is really worth a look at.

Takashi Murakami

Takashi Murakami designed the artwork for Kanye West's latest album Graduation and did the brilliant video for West's track Good Morning (which is looseley based on Graduation's cover art) but has an impressive back catalogue of other work that is worth a look at. (Courtesy of We Make it Good)

lomography

I know they're a bit pretentious and they attract a pretty artsy crowd but the lomography blog is nice and there's loads on there, including some nice pics (albeit some of it being a bit overexposed...)

The Futile Vignette

Found this really nicely designed website by Sheffield based company Futile Vignette on the grain edit site. It's full of really beautiful illustrations and has got a well put together and easy to navigate site.

grain edit

Found this recently and absolutely love it! This bloke focuses primarily on 1950's - 1970's design and likes even more the type of clean Swiss design that designers like Josef Muller Brockmann popularised. What's even beter about this site is that it's updated almost daily

Thing Making

I found this site on the turntablelab blog and really liked it.
It's done by this bloke Ryan Waller, who I've never heard of before but you might recognise some of his work for people like Quiet Life and Stussy.
This is my favourite bit of work he's done. I think it shows how important type is and how it can really improve a piece of work.

Welcome

This is the beginning.
